RZD Logistics has started a project on multimodal delivery of veterinary medicines from China to Moscow

JSC RZD Logistics fulfilled the “door-to-door” delivery of the first consignment of enzymes in autonomous refrigerated containers for one of Russian producers of veterinary medicines and supplementary feeds for pets.

Experts of RZD Logistics organized the freight delivery by auto from Nantong to a railway station in Chengdu with further transportation in container train to Selyatino station through border point Dostyk –Alashankou and further auto delivery to a final consignee. Due to 24-hour online monitoring of temperature along the whole route, the cargo safety has been guaranteed on each stage of transportation.

In the framework of this project a client was provided with a complex transport service, including the delivery on first and last miles, cargo processing on a railway terminal, railway transportation, payment of freight charges and customs clearance on the territory of Russian Federation.

Autonomous refrigerated containers validated for transportation of pharmaceutical cargo are used for this service, which guarantees observance of GDP-requirements and stability of cold chain along the whole route, even during multimodal transportation. Thus, Russian pharmmarket has received an effective tool for working with alternative markets”, – noted Deputy General Director of JSC RZD Logistics on strategy and development Nikolay Gvozdev.
