Sibtechgaz used own trucks for freight forwarding prior to cooperation with RZD Logistics. However, in the framework of this project after receiving necessary permissions RZD Logistics used specialized rail tank wagon fleet idled on railway tracks of the plant.  The new scheme developed by RZD Logistics allowed to reduce significantly transportation costs by delivering oxygen by rail from Novosibirsk to Barnaul of West Siberian Railway, where the cargo was transshipped directly into cryogenic liquid tank trucks. The company also provided  the “last mile” delivery service from the rail station to ten hospitals of Altai Krai.

According to Sergei Shevtsov, RZD Logistics Branch Director in Novosibirsk, the logistics scheme once again proved competitive advantage and economic efficiency of the rail transport. In the future RZDL plans to use similar solutions for coal companies, which use liquid nitrogen for firefighting and fire prevention in coal mines. RZD Logistics plans to continue cooperation with Sibtechgaz plant by switching to providing 3PL services for technical gas export and delivery to final consumers.

JSC Sibtechgaz is one of the leading Russian and CIS producers of technical gases like oxygen, nitrogen, argon, food and industrial gas mixtures, pure gases.
