RZD Logistics and Chinese Transport Company Sinotrans have agreed to develop transit from China to Europe

«RZD Logistics» JSC, the largest multimodal logistics operator in the CIS and Baltic countries, together with Sinotrans, one of the largest logistics companies in China, agreed to develop transit traffic from China to Europe.

Vyacheslav Valentik, General Director of RZD Logistics, and Hairong Chen, Deputy General Director of Sinotrans signed the strategic cooperation agreement, at the largest logistics and transport exhibition «Transport Logistic» that takes place in Munich from 4 to 7 June. The document assumes a long-term partnership between companies in the field of railway freight traffic in international traffic, namely, sending of container trains to Europe from Chinese provinces, in which Sinotrans has representative offices, including from Qingdao, Changsha, Shilong, Shenyang and others. The parties also agreed to cooperate in sending of similar trains in the opposite direction, from Europe to China.

Within the framework of this cooperation, RZD Logistics will provide wagons, operate trains in the 1520 gauge area and in Europe, and will work towards attracting cargo to these trains. The Chinese side will provide logistics services on its territory and, among other things, will help shippers to receive export subsidies. In addition, the parties will consider the possibility of joint investments in the development of various terminal complexes, which will also help increase the volume of transported along the China-Europe-China route cargo.
