Mr. Dmitriy Murev, CEO, signed the Memorandum on behalf of JSC RZD Logistics and Capt. Rashed Zaheer, CEO & Group Director, signed the document on behalf of Port Link International Service Ltd. Both parties agreed to join efforts in the improvement of logistics cooperation between Russia and Pakistan and to develop high-potential projects in the area of container shipments between the countries.

"Russian export to Pakistan in the 1st half of 2020 increased by 21.98% compared to the same period in 2019, however, import from Pakistan to Russia decreased by 22.10% (compared to the same period in 2019). The growth of trade turnover also implies working on the transport component: reducing transport costs, simplifying customs procedures, removing administrative barriers, digitalizing cross-border transportation and creating new transport products. The signing of the Memorandum with Port Link International Services Ltd. is the first step to a fruitful cooperation between our companies, which will enable us to offer a new transport solution to shippers in Russia and Pakistan and in the long term will affect the trade volume between our countries," - Dmitry Murev commented during the document signing procedure.

“The Memorandum will be a milestone for regional connectivity and will expand the scope of cooperation and promote strategic partnership between RZD Logistics and Marine Group. This development will open the doors for business opportunities and will facilitate trade and investment not only between our two countries but in the Central Asian countries as well,” - Mr. Aasim A. Siddiqui, Managing Director of Marine Group, an elected Chairman “All Pakistan Shipping Association” & a former Chairman Railway Committee of “The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry”, commented after the signing ceremony.
