RZD Logistics organized the first export shipment in container train from Chelyabinsk station of South Ural Railway in the direction of Iranian port of Bandar Abbas.
The train will go through the territory of Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran and arrive in the port of Bandar Abbas for further transshipment in the beginning of May. Among delivered cargo there are the following categories: metal, food products and drinks. In Bandar Abbas containers will be reloaded to a vessel for the delivery to the port of destination.
“This delivery marks the expansion of geography of our railway service along International North-South Transport Corridor. We are convinced that this project will result in increase of number of enterprises from Ural, which use this service. At the moment we hold talks with leading exporting/importing companies on a subject of logistics cooperation and possible attraction of cargo to the transport corridor”, – noted the director of separate subdivision of RZD Logistics in Chelyabinsk Andrey Repin.
Regular service along INSTC was launched in October, 2022. Shipments are organized on a monthly basis. Container trains go via Eastern branch of the corridor to Iranian port and by sea to Iran, Pakistan, India, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
