RZD Logistics delivered autos from China to Chelyabinsk

RZD Logistics’ branch in Chelyabinsk delivered the first large consignment of passenger autos from China to Chelyabinsk.

The experts of RZD Logistics have worked out a multimodal route of transportation, which includes sea, railway and auto transport.

Consignment consisting of 28 autos was loaded in 40-feet containers and shipped by sea from Shanghai to Vladivostok, transshipped to rail and delivered to Ekaterinburg as a part of container train. The cargo was delivered to final destination in Chelyabinsk by auto.

RZD Logistics provided a client with full range of services, including the loading of autos in Shanghai, securing of cargo in containers, chartering a vessel, sea-rail transshipment of containers, railway transportation, last mile auto delivery to customs warehouse of the client and customs clearance of cargo.

“Successful implementation of this project is the result of well-organized cooperation between the company’s branch in Chelyabinsk and experts of the central office of RZD Logistics. According to our estimations, in 2023 the delivery of autos from China increased by 300% in comparison to last year. This data confirms the high demand for our complex service on the delivery of cars and auto parts in containers from China to Russia. The service includes the optimal route configuration, individual scheme of cargo loading and unloading with consideration to the cargo characteristics, customs clearance, which allows to cut the delivery time and clients’ expenses. It is the first international transportation of autos along this route for our branch office and in the future we plan to continue our participation in this project”, – said the head of RZD Logistics’ branch in Chelyabinsk Andrey Repin.
