RZD Logistics expects import volume growth along the INSTC from UAE, India and China

The positive dynamic of import cargo flow has already been noted in October. The month results show 20% growth in comparison to the same period of last year.

UAE, India and China are among the key directions of import cargo flows. Main factors that facilitate growth are seasonality and recently opened modern logistics hub in the Islamic Republic of Iran – dry port Aprin.

The corridor is in high demand among those clients who need their freight to be delivered in short time, as it takes only 14-16 days for a container train to reach Vorsino terminal from the port of Bandar Abbas and 12 days from the logistics center Aprin. Transportation route goes through the border crossing Akyayla/ Incheh Borun.

"With the start of the business season, we see high demand for container service on the Eastern route in import direction. This can be explained by the development of the project, expansion of geography and services, as well as attractive transit time. Now we actively form trains for the end of the year”, – says Deputy General Director – Director for multimodal transportation department of RZD Logistics Sergey Levin.

RZD Logistics was the first company to launch freight transportation along the INSTC in full-length container trains in 2022, with current number 4 trains per month.

Container trains depart from Moscow, North-West region, Ural and West Siberia.

Over 10 months of 2025 the volume of cargo transported along the Eastern route of the INSTC (in TEU) increased by 1,6 times in comparison to the same period of the previous year.
