RZD Logistics increases the volume of agricultural export to India via INSTC
RZD Logistics continues to gradually increase the volume of agricultural products’ transportation from the Ural region of Russia to India. Another step is the dispatch of a full-fledged container train from Formachyovo railway station of South Urals Railway to the port Mundra in India.
The train consisting of 62 20-feet containers with oat groats followed the railway Eastern route of the International North-South Transport Corridor to the port of Bandar Abbas, with further sea leg to the port Mundra (India). The estimated transit time to the port of destination has been reduced to 30 days, which is 5 days faster than the previously organized shipment.
Increase of containers’ number from 31 to 62 reflects the scaling up of the logistics service, development of operational efficiency of the company and its ability to adapt flexibly to the changing market. The route based on the INSTC allows to significantly reduce the time of cargo delivery to the key ports of India in comparison to traditional sea routes and contributes to strengthening of trade ties between the two countries.
“The company is willing to help Russian agricultural producers to integrate into the global logistics chains by means of its own transport solutions and by means of cooperation with other market participants, including the ones from other countries. We follow a comprehensive approach to the diversification of export routes and meeting the demand for effective and reliable logistics service connecting with India and the Middle East countries”, – emphasized Deputy General Director – Director for multimodal transportation department of RZD Logistics Sergey Levin.
