RZD Logistics dispatched the first consignment of sunflower oil in a container train along the INSTC
JSC RZD Logistics organized the first railway transportation of sunflower oil along the Eastern route of the International North-South Transport Corridor in a full-fledged container train.
The goods of the Lipetsk region producers were consolidated in ten 20-feet containers for the delivery to final consignees in Iran.
The sunflower oil was transported in containers equipped with flexitanks. RZD Logistics organized the first mile delivery and the railway transportation from the station Selyatino in Moscow region to the Ak-Yayla station of Turkmenistan Railways. The goods will be delivered from this point to different cities of Iran by trucks. The total volume of cargo amounts to 200 tons.
“Iran is among the main consumers of Russian sunflower oil and is constantly increasing the import of Russian agricultural products, which allows us to actively use the Eastern branch of the INSTC for the transportation of such products. Taking into consideration the specific character of oil transportation in flexitanks, we offer delivery only in container trains, which reduces the time of transportation and increases the cargo safety. Agricultural hub Selyatino is a reliable platform for cargo consolidation and consignment. The terminal infrastructure is constantly developing and allows us to adjust services to the South direction”, – noted the director of container logistics of RZD Logistics Alexander Sivertsev.
