RZD Logistics for the first time fulfilled ultra-long distance transportation of unique oversized cargo for Partizanskaya GRES
JSC RZD Logistics has successfully finished the delivery of extra oversized equipment – stator (with oversize degree Н0880 and weight 155 tons), which required special conditions of passing through the railway network, setting of controlling frame and using 16 buffer wagons.
This is the first in the company’s history transportation of cargo of this size and weight for a record distance of 11 000 kilometers. Implementation of this project confirms exceptional competencies of RZD Logistics’ experts in the area of especially complicated oversized cargo transportation.
The route went from Tsvetochnaya station of October Railway to Lozovyi station of Far Eastern Railway with further delivery to private tracks at the delivery point – Partizanskaya GRES. The general time of transportation was 90 days, which underscores the complexity of logistics, along with necessity to coordinate the conditions of passing through the route and special control procedures.
The transportation of energy equipment was fulfilled by means of specialized rolling stock – heavy 16-axle transporter, designed especially for oversized and heavy cargo. Over 6 months of 2025, the company organized 4 deliveries by 16-axle transporters. 6 more deliveries of heavy and oversized cargo are in the process of implementation, exceeding the total number of such projects in 2024 by 2,5 times.
“This transportation is more than just a successful project — it is confirmation of high-level expertise of RZD Logistics in the area of oversized and heavy cargo. Delivery of this type of cargo along the route of 11 000 kilometers is extremely complicated engineer and logistics task, which we have solved for the first time. This experience will lay the basis for further development of this strategic direction. We are showing that Russian railway logistics is ready to fulfil the most ambitious tasks – in the interests of key sectors of economy, including the most remote regions of the country”, – emphasized Director of Project Logistics department Sergey Rudnichok.
