JSC RZD Logistics in cooperation with JSCo "RZD" and JSC “Transit” organized the departure of the first container train consisting of 100 conditional wagons from TLC “South Port”. The train will go along the route Lyublino-Sortirovochny of Moscow Railway to Khabarovsk-2 of Far Eastern Railway, with approximate transit time – 10 days.
The train consists of 54 platforms, loaded with 40- and 20-feet containers with consumer goods: sugar, pasta, beverages, construction materials. Beef and poultry meat are transported in refrigerated containers of RZD Logistics. In general, more than 100 40-feet containers were loaded on a train, which is 40% more in comparison to standard train, consisting of 71 conditional cars.
This kind of shipment is the first one for TLC “South Port”. Among important characteristics of the project – fixed train path set by JSCo "RZD", which guarantees stable and predictable time of delivery. This format allows to consolidate more cargo in one train, reduce time spent on logistics operations and decrease pressure on infrastructure.
“Launch of the train of this length – a technological step forward for our company, as well as for the industry in general. Not only do we increase the volume of transportation, but also show capabilities of new logistics infrastructure. This is a result of concerted efforts with JSCo "RZD" and confirmation of our willingness to organize stable supplies for our clients in short terms”, — noted Sergey Levin, Deputy CEO – Director of Multimodal Transportation Department of JSC “RZD Logistics”.
