RZD Logistics increases the volume of export shipments by Agroexpress
JSC RZD Logistics organized the export shipment of poultry to China for one of Russia’s largest agricultural holdings, which specializes on the production of turkey meet, duck and lamb.
The “door-to-door” transportation was fulfilled in autonomous refrigerated containers owned by RZD Logistics. The first stage of delivery included the transportation by auto from the producers’ factory in Rostov region to Chekhov station in Moscow region, with further railway transportation to Chengdu and auto delivery to Shanghai.
“The railway service on the route Chekhov-Chengdu is one of the most popular in the framework of Agroexpress project. Naturally, the producers of agricultural goods from Russia’s South regions are actively using this route for accelerated delivery of cargo to China. We work with wide range of agricultural products and are willing to help exporters maintain regular supplies of various food products, including duck and turkey meet”, – noted Deputy General Director for multimodal service at JSC RZD Logistics Dmitry Kryukov.
Agroexpress project was launched in 2019 by Russian Export Center JSC and RZD Logistics JSC with the participation of interested wholesale distribution centers. The project is aimed at the development of Russian agricultural products’ export by means of latest logistics technologies. The joint transport product is taking into consideration the key requirements of agricultural products’ producers to a complex logistics service: the safety of cargo, temperature regime control along the way, phytosanitary and veterinary control, customs clearance, short time of delivery. Freight is transported in refrigerated and universal containers, as well as in flexitanks.
