RZD Logistics launched a regular container train through the East route of the International North-South Transport Corridor

JSC RZD Logistics organized the departure of the first regular container train to run through the East route of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), which marks the launch of a new long-awaited multimodal service.

The train consisting of 31 40 ft containers departed from Chekhov railway station in Moscow region and is going through the territories of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran to the port of Bandar Abbas, where containers will be relocated to vessels and delivered by sea to clients.
This project opens a regular export-import route through the East branch of INSTC, with container trains departing once a month. The company plans to increase the number of trains in the nearest future.

Lately RZD Logistics has significantly widened its opportunities in providing high-level logistics services by acquiring its own assets. The company owns 500 autonomous refrigerated containers, which allows RZD Logistics to meet the increasing needs of agricultural producers and extend its multimodal services to the South-East Asia and to Vietnam in particular. 280 transporter wagons of different types make it possible for the company to deliver oversize cargo not only across Russia, but to the neighboring countries as well.
