South Port TLC for the first time accepted a train with consumer goods from China, with RZD Logistics being the consignee

RZD Logistics JSC in the framework of the joint service with Transit LLC has launched a regular container service from the Eastern part of China, Hefei railway station, to Moscow terminal South Port of the Central Directorate for Management of the Terminal & Warehouse Complex of Russian Railways.

On the 1st of July the first public import container train from China with consumer goods was met at South Port TLC. The train departed from Hefei station (East China) in transit through Kazakhstan and arrived at South Port terminal in 20 days, having delivered to Moscow consumer goods. A new route has become a part of the program on international transport corridors expansion and optimization of supply chains between Asia and European part of Russia.

“The launch of a new import service through South Port TLC marks an important step in the development of Trans-Eurasian logistics. The terminal location within the city makes it one of the key elements of the delivery chain, providing efficiency, as well as economic benefit for clients”, – noted Deputy General Director – Director for multimodal transportation department of RZD Logistics Sergey Levin.

Container service is expected to become regular, with scheduled 2-4 import trains per month.
